Delete your Dayscent account

You can delete your Dayscent account and its data at any time, in the app or by email.

Option 1: in the app (fastest)

  1. Open Dayscent and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab, then tap the Settings menu button at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Account options, then Delete account.
  4. Confirm with Delete account.

Your account is deleted right away, and the app signs you out.

Option 2: by email (if you can’t use the app)

Email [email protected] from the email address you use to sign in to Dayscent, with the subject “Delete my account”. We use your email address only to confirm that the account is yours. We may ask you to confirm the request by replying. We’ll delete the account within 30 days (usually a few days) and reply when it’s done. We delete the same data as the in-app option (see below).

Deleting by email can’t reach an offline phone. When the app reconnects and detects that your session is no longer valid, it signs out and clears its offline data, your setup progress and cached pictures. You can also remove local data by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling it.

What is deleted

  • Your account and email address
  • Your profile: display name, username, profile photo, signature scent and preferences
  • Your collection: fragrances, ratings, favorites, personal notes, your bottle photos, and fragrances you added by hand
  • Your wear history and everything you shared: posts, captions, polls and poll votes
  • Your comments and reactions, your friends and friend requests, the people you blocked, and your friend suggestions
  • On the phone you delete from in the app: offline data, your setup progress and cached pictures. These are also cleared on sign-out. A marker that remembers the intro was seen stays; it holds no personal data and lets the app reopen at sign-in. For other phones, see Option 2 above.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Reports. If you reported someone, or someone reported you, the report is kept for safety reasons until it has been reviewed and then for 365 days after review. We delete closed reports older than that in a monthly clean-up, so a report can remain for up to about a month longer. The report is no longer linked to your account, but it keeps a copy of what was reported (for example a username, display name, fragrance name or comment).
  • Anonymous usage counts. Counts of fragrance lookups are kept without any link to you, so we can manage monthly limits.
  • Fragrance facts that an AI lookup you started added to the shared catalog (notes, accords and so on) stay available to everyone, without any link to you.
  • Backups and system logs kept by our hosting provider (Supabase) are removed on their normal schedule.
